The institution has made educations an real fruit of life by providing a wide range of academic and para academic activities.<br />Established in the year 1986, this Kendriya Vidyalaya caters to the educational needs of the children of floating population like the employees of central govt. offices, defence personnel, ex-service men and other transferable employees liable for frequent transfers. The sprawling campus is spread over 8.6 acres of land provided by the sponsors , the Instrumentation Ltd., Kanjikode. Books are being provided to the students at regular intervals. Open system is being followed. This system encourages readers to read more and more books, as it provides a close relationship between the readers and the book.<br /><br />CLASS ROOM LIBRARY<br /><br />Apart from the main library class room library is also being maintained exclusively for the primary children. Class room libraries are under the direct control and supervision of the class Teacher.<br /><br />RESERVATION OF LOAN<br /><br />Members are allowed to make reservation for any book they heed. Members will be informed of the availability of the books when returned by the other member.<br /><br />RENEWAL OF LOAN<br /><br />The loan of a book may be further renewed for a period of fortnight on production of book if there is no request for the same.<br /><br /><br /><br />BOOK REVIEW METHOD<br /><br />Students are asked to write review for the books they read and borrowed from the library to ensure that they have read the books. The student who reads maximum number of books are given prizes which acts as incentive for the students encouraging them to read more books.<br /><br />REFERENCE SERVICE<br /><br /><span style="font-size:100%;">Providing reference service is the most important aspect of readers service and this service is being provided to the students regularly and a separate register is being maintained.</span><br /><br /><br />CURRENT AWARENESS SERVICE<br /><br />This service is also provided to the members of the library through the display boards and information\ bulletin boards.<br /><br />QUIZ PROGRAMME<br /><br />To motivate reading habit among the children quiz programmes are being organized<br />Conducted several quiz programmes<br /><br /><br />FUTURE PLAN FOR THE EFFECTIVE READING HABIT<br /><br />DEPARTMENT LIBRARY:<br /><br />It is planned to extent the reader’s service effectively through department libraries.<br /><br /><br />NEWS PAPER AND PRESS CLIPPING SERVICE:<br /><br />It is also planned that news papers are the most important source of lates information.
